Which Type of Amber Do We Use?

We use only AAA-grade jewellery quality raw Baltic amber, also known as succinite. Our artisans shape, polish, and hand-string each bead using traditional methods. No reconstructed, melted, or artificial amber is ever used in GoAmber jewellery. Available in a range of natural colours – from honey and cognac to dark cherry – each piece is one-of-a-kind.

Measurement Guide

All measurements are taken from clasp to clasp. To find the best fit, measure with a string or an existing item.

  • Anklets: Should fit comfortably, with space for one finger between skin and jewellery.
  • Bracelets: Measure wrist circumference and add approximately 1 cm for comfort.
  • Necklaces (Adults): Measure an existing necklace or use string to find the desired length. Children’s necklaces must never be too tight and should only be worn under adult supervision.

Safety and Use Recommendations

Amber jewellery is intended for decorative wear. For children under three years old, jewellery should always be worn under adult supervision and never used for chewing or play. Remove while sleeping, bathing, or unsupervised. For adults, handle with care, avoid overstretching elastic styles, and remove jewellery before swimming, exercising, or applying lotions or perfumes.

Raw or Polished Amber – Which Is Better?

Raw amber is unpolished and maintains its natural matte finish, while polished amber has a smooth, glossy surface. Both are equally genuine and differ only in texture and appearance. Choosing between raw or polished amber is a matter of personal preference and style – both offer the same authenticity and craftsmanship.

Are Different Colours of Amber More Valuable?

All natural amber colours are beautiful and unique. Value differences are usually aesthetic rather than quality-related. Darker shades such as dark cherry or cognac are popular for their rich tones, while honey and lemon amber are known for their brightness and transparency.

Will Water or Sunlight Damage Amber?

Amber is an organic gemstone that can be affected by prolonged exposure to water or chemicals. To maintain its shine, remove your jewellery before swimming, showering, or using cleaning products. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or heat to prevent darkening.

What Happens If the Jewellery Is Pulled?

All GoAmber products are hand-knotted between each bead for safety and durability. If pulled hard or caught, the thread is designed to break safely to prevent injury or damage. Only one bead will come loose because of the double-knotted design.

How Long Will My Amber Jewellery Last?

With proper care, your amber bracelet, anklet, or necklace can last for many years. Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals and always store separately in a soft pouch. Amber may darken slightly over time – a natural sign of its organic origin and age.

Can Children Wear Amber Jewellery?

Amber jewellery for children is designed as a decorative accessory and must always be worn under adult supervision. According to EU safety standards, necklaces and anklets are not suitable for children under 36 months due to small parts. Children should never chew or play with amber jewellery.

Amber Jewellery for Adults

GoAmber offers a full range of adult amber jewellery – bracelets, necklaces, and anklets crafted from genuine Baltic amber. These pieces are designed for everyday wear, adding warmth, colour, and natural beauty to your look. Our adult collection combines elegant design with sustainable craftsmanship, making each item a meaningful, timeless accessory.

What Is Baltic Amber?

Baltic amber, also known as succinite, is fossilised tree resin that formed 40–50 million years ago. It is valued for its natural beauty, warm tones, and historical significance. Baltic amber contains trace amounts of succinic acid – a naturally occurring compound that distinguishes it from other amber types.
